Sonnet
How must I go in life when path finds end?
While is no truth given or way defined!
No guide with ways for me on which to send.
And God's myth made in humans' mouth does bind!
But Oh! My friend a path was never set.
You always moved free with each silent breath.
We hide in rules and fate to miss the threat,
Of chaos in our inner world until death!
Be content to know each life has no road.
From dawn of man to now it is the same.
We weave the thread of actions we have sowed.
With vast potential paths in life to tame!
Thank you wise friend! I'll ward off my distress.
Free of self-deception so I progress!
I like poetry... For the most part I have left it in the domain of my brother's skills, as he is the writer and I am the painter. However, I have some fun every now and again with my chaotic ramblings in free verse. This evening I had the strong urge to create something and it came upon me that it would be fun to write a Sonnet. I had only ever written them as school assignments decades ago when I was a much younger lad (sad isn't it?). So the above was my effort to create one for the last couple hours. It was very fun! I'm hoping it sticks with me enough that I write more...
